I've heard the discussion twice now can anyone offer some confirmation to the rumor that Arab is going to get a Walgreens?  I've heard the suggested site as north of Wal-Mart or at the old Arab Bowling Alley (now a strip mall).  I know in bigger towns CVS and Walgreens are known to be built within spitting distance of each other.

Personally I don't want it.. we really don't need another drug store to come in and close down a locally owned store.

I agree completely!  Didn't like it when CVS bought out Mason's even tho I didn't use them.  Still, I refuse to use the big drug stores as I like the personal touch the local small pharmacies give.  And if you are lucky enough to have health coverage with prescription benefits, the small local drug stores charge you the exact same price for your scripts as the big stores do.  So, I end up spending less by not having the "impulse shopping bug" hit while I am waiting for my prescription.  Will let you know if I find out any info on this.

I've heard that too. We need another drug store in this town like we need another bank or dollar store in this town. OH and I also heard that the Dollar General on the corner of 231/69 where the overpass is was going to be a Shoney's but people voted for a Dollar General instead. Now THAT is wonderful.

Walgreens at this time IS NOT COMING to Arab! Also the former strip mall ( old bowling Lanes ) will soon be the new Home Place Furniture buliding. Shoneys was never an option at that location. Trust me, I know. Rumors, rumors, rumors, don't you love them?

I heard that the old Arab Bowling Alley (now a strip mall) is going to be the new home for the Furniture Store (Home Place) thats across the highway. The Building that furniture store is now in will be torn down and a New Citizens Bank will be built in its place.  Sorry I've not heard anything about a Walgreens.
