I got this e-mail today and I have to say I'm pretty excited.

Arab's Downtown Association of Merchants (ADAM) is pleased to announce the opening of the Downtown Arab Farmers Market. The weekly market will feature local farmers and backyard gardeners selling local, fresh, seasonal produce, providing a unique opportunity for local residents to buy "just-picked" produce straight from the farmers who grew it.

The plans are to begin opening for business in June and open each Saturday morning, (8:00 am - 1:00 pm), through October 25.  We will announce the exact opening date soon.

Please pass the word and help us get this information out to the public. Anyone that grows fresh produce is eligible to sell, no matter how little or how much produce you have to offer. Preference for spaces will be given to local growers, but other produce vendors are encouraged to apply for stall space.

Please call 931-2498 for more information and to reserve your vendor space.

Also, there is a bandstand available at the Farmer's Market, and the gazebo on 1st Ave NW, for anyone wishing to give an acoustical performance during the market hours. Please call for information.

The Downtown Arab Farmers Market is brought to you by ADAM (Arab's Downtown
Association of Merchants) in conjunction with the City of Arab and the Arab Chamber of Commerce as part of the restoration project of Downtown Arab.
