THANK YOU!!!! I am so glad to see that Otelco is now offering online statements and bill pay from their website. It is so refreshing to see that other than Charter cable Arab now has a utility that has made a step into the 21st century.
It is sad to see that the Arab Electric Co-Op, Marshall County Gas District and Arab Water Works basically refuse to make the transition to these type of services that not make it easy pay utility bills but also encourages those who simply forget to get their act together and pay the bills online rather than have to drop a check off at the local office.
The next step is to get all of these other local municipal type utilities to join forces and create a one stop shop for all these services. One deposit and one payment should suffice for all three Water, Gas and Electricity. It is crazy that it costs almost $500 in deposits to get all this turned on not to mention that you basically have to take a day off to go visit all these places. For a young family or first time homeowner it is a huge issue.
I would like to mention that the Arab Water Works does have a website at
http://www.arabwaterworks.com/ but it doesn't appear to have been updated since 2003! The water quality report link opens the report from 2003 and there is some type of advertising at the bottom.
Anyways thank you again Otelco - Keep up the good work and I look forward to hearing more about IPTV.
